Why use CBD for your pets?
The growing CBD market has pet owners, veterinarians, and animal rehabilitation specialists talking about the benefits of CBD. Similar to humans animals also have an endocannabinoid system that allows CBD to benefit their overall well being and quality of life.

While much more research needs to be done early reports show that CBD can offer natural relief to various conditions that affect their health.

Pet Inflammation

There are a number of reasons your pet can experience joint issues caused by inflammation.  Some pets have a genetic predisposition to arthritis and others end up suffering inflammation due to playtime and activity that eventually wears on their joints and ligaments. If inflammation builds up it can significantly impact your pet’s range of motion and overall quality of life.

Studies have demonstrated CBD’s ability to reduce inflammation and help relieve inflammatory pain. These findings have allowed Cannabidiol or CBD to become the preferred natural solution to pet inflammation.

Pet Anxiety

Many pets experience anxiety for a variety of reasons including separation anxiety, loud noises such as thunderstorms or fireworks, and even car rides. Some common symptoms of anxiety in your pet can be excessive chewing (shoes, toys, furniture), persistent barking in dogs, aggression, and urinating and defecating inside the house.

CBD has been reported to help reduce the feelings of anxiety, but how it does so isn’t entirely clear. Anti anxiety medications target serotonin receptors in the body to increase serotonin levels and as a result reduce feelings of anxiety. A 2016 study suggests CBD may work in a similar way allowing the natural alternative to calm your pet and reduce stress.

Pet Nausea & Vomiting

Your pet may experience nausea and vomiting from certain medications and treatments or as the result of a specific condition. Nausea and vomiting can cause serious problems for your pet including fatigue, decreased appetite, increased weight loss, and dehydration.

While there are numerous antiemetic medications available (Acepromazine, Chlorpromazine, & Aminopentamide to name a few) they often cause a variety of side effects including sedation, excessive drooling, diarrhea, and hypotension. In order to prevent your pet from experiencing these symptoms CBD has become a great alternative. Some studies show CBD to have strong antiemetic effects and propose CBD can be more powerful than some modern medications.

Pet Digestion

Pets can encounter digestive issues from eating too much or too little, getting into things they aren’t supposed to, and is something pet owners are often all to familiar with. CBD can play an important role in helping maintain a healthy digestive tract.
